Team Gemini and Partners to Feature at the 2014 Bioproducts World Showcase and Conference
Three-day event to include leading industry vendors, education sessions, networking opportunities, and more to accelerate growth and opportunities within the bioproducts-based sector
(Orlando, FL) — Team Gemini, LLC, a sustainable project design and development company based in Orlando, will be an active participant at the inaugural 2014 Bioproducts World Showcase and Conference held on October 6-8, 2014 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio. It is a unique opportunity to bring together national and international industry leaders in support of consumer and corporate demand for bio-based products.
U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack will provide keynote remarks on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 5:00 pm, with the presentation of the “Bioproduct Innovation of the Year” award on Monday, Oct. 6. Team Gemini’s President Douglas P. Haughn will be among the presenters, speaking on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 9:30 am, on the topic of “Biobased Materials from Wastes.” He will also facilitate a workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 10:45 am with Joel Stone of Green Biologics and Laurence Eaton (Billion Ton Study). Representation from team members includes Al Lettinga from enCO2, LLC as well as Keith Ely from Ely & Associates, Inc.
The event, organized by the Ohio Bioproducts Innovation Center (OBIC), is set to attract government procurement officials; buyers for retail stores and other large commercial companies; USDA-Certified bioproduct manufacturers; producers of bio-based materials, including commodity organizations, biotechnology providers, processors, compounders and other industrial collaborators; and rural economic development organizations.
“This conference presents an opportunity to connect, learn, and lay the foundation for potential project endeavors that can change communities,” advises Haughn. “From farmers familiarizing themselves with the latest methods and products for turning waste into energy, to universities and businesses integrating lessons about sustainability into their operations, there is a lot to be gained for those who participate.”
The list of participants is extensive, and includes the likes of: Battelle, Emery, Ford, Office Depot, PepsiCo, Sherwin Williams, Tarkett, and the USDA, to name a few. Roundtable discussions, receptions, mini-sessions and showcases, and Public-Private-Partnership presentations will be par for the course.
