Team Gemini’s President to Speak at the Ohio Environmental Health Association’s Southeast District Fall Conference
Douglas P. Haughn to deliver OEHA members a presentation on landfill reduction as a way to create healthy and sustainable communities
(Orlando, FL) — Team Gemini, LLC, a sustainable project design and development company based in Orlando, has announced its participation in the Ohio Environmental Health Association’s Southeast District Fall Conference to be held on September 24-25, 2014 at Burr Oak State Park in Glouster, Ohio.
Team Gemini’s President Douglas P. Haughn has been invited to deliver a presentation entitled “Landfill Reduction,” which is a topic that is at the core of the company’s sustainable industrial park: the Gemini Synergy Center located in Grove City, Ohio.
Mr. Haughn will educate OEHA members on the opportunity to garner the ever-growing stream of municipal solid waste, to be processed at the Gemini Synergy Center.
“Reducing landfills in communities across the nation is not only a catalyst for achieving sustainability,” said Haughn. “It is a realistic and viable solution to the growing problem of having to use valuable land for purposes other than generating revenue.”
The opportunity to speak to a captive audience of health officials, inspectors and other members of the Ohio Environmental Health Association will also include an update on the construction of the Center of Resource Recovery and Recycling—commonly known by its COR3 acronym.
The Gemini Synergy Center’s COR3 facility will be tasked with processing the incoming waste stream but will also begin mining the existing landfill managed by the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) and eventually reclaim that tract of land.
The game-changing nature of Team Gemini’s project in Grove City, OH aims at generating renewable energy, sustainable crops and recycled materials with commercial value, with additional benefits to be outlined during the presentation.
Doug Haughn will be speaking to OEHA members at 11:00 am and will be available for questions right after his presentation. Interviews may be scheduled post-conference via phone or in person.
